Disaster!
$10,000 up in smoke. Faulty brakes on a forklift operated by John Holland, owner and CEO of Shamrock Tile and Marble, for whom I was the marble shop foreman…working without supervision on a weekend lead to this expensive mistake. He said it was like “slow motion” as one crate hit the other and both went down in a heap. In the background, you can see the slabs we cut for the Plaza Grand Stair. As soon as I saw that crate, I knew where it was going. Thank goodness Johnny didn’t break that one, too!
